Horoscopes Can’t Hold Your Future – But God Can

God is clear about where we’re supposed to seek guidance – and where we’re not.

Scripture doesn’t leave room for psychics, mediums, fortune-tellers, tarot cards, or astrology charts. Those things might look “harmless” or “fun,” but God calls them out directly as practices that pull our hearts away from Him.

Why?

Because anything that tries to predict your future without God in it… leads you away from the One who already holds your future.

Deuteronomy 18:10-12 (NIV) reminds us that these things are detestable to the Lord. Not because He wants to restrict us – but because He wants to protect us. His wisdom is pure. His guidance is steady. His voice brings peace, not confusion.

“Let no one be found among you who sacrifices their son or daughter in the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, or casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritist or who consults the dead. Anyone who does these things is detestable to the Lord; because of these same detestable practices the Lord your God will drive out these nations before you.”

“When someone tells you to consult mediums and spiritists, who whisper and mutter, should not a people inquire of their God? Why consult the dead on behalf of the living?” – Isaiah 8:19 (NIV)

“Do not turn to mediums or seek out spiritists, for you will be defiled by them. I am the Lord your God.” – Leviticus 19:31 (NIV)

“Witchcraft is listed among the works of the flesh – and it’s not a small thing.” – Galatians 5:19-21 (NIV)

“All the counsel you have received has only worn you out! Let your astrologers come forward, those stargazers who make predictions month by month, let them save you from what is coming upon you. Surely, they are like stubble; the fire will burn up. They cannot even save themselves from the power of the flame. These are not coals for warmth; this is not a fire to sit by.” – Isaiah 47:13-14

“And when you look up to the sky and see the sun, the moon, and the stars – all the heavenly array – do not be enticed into bowing down to them and worshiping things the Lord your God has apportioned to all the nations under heaven.” – Deuteronomy 4:19

Acts 16:16-18 – Even the girl with the “spirit of divination” spoke truth – but Paul still cast it out.

God doesn’t use demonic sources to deliver divine truth.

The message is the same from Genesis to Revelation: Don’t chase false light. Don’t look for answers in the shadows. If it doesn’t come from God – it’s not guidance, it’s bondage.

Your destiny doesn’t come from stars, spirits, or cards. Your future is in the hands of the One who crafted it.

So today, keep your eyes on the only source that truly speaks life. No stars. No cards. No “readings.” Just God – the One who knows you, leads you, and never steers you wrong.
