What Readers Are Saying
Our readers reviews speak volumes about our books.
A comforting and encouraging devotional filled with honesty and hope. The reflections are easy to relate to and gently remind you that God is present in every season. A beautiful read for anyone needing peace and reassurance.
Quillon Breckin, Goodreads Review
This devotional speaks straight to the heart. The truths are simple but powerful, and each entry encourages reflection, healing, and trust in God’s purpose. A meaningful start to a devotional series I’m excited to continue.
Taylor Zane, Goodreads Review
The raw, heartfelt testimony of a woman is beautiful. There were so many times I felt her words were my words, my thoughts. It’s just peaceful to know we all have been struggles. The book, pages are absolutely beautiful, and I could not put it down. Finished it in an hour because I felt every word.
Alecia Tolar Pitts, Amazon Review
This devotional truly spoke to me. Mess, Mercy, and Miracles is written with such honesty and grace, the author doesn’t shy away from real-life struggles but instead reminds us that God’s hand is steady through every season. What I love most is how relatable it feels; it’s a reminder that we’re all in this together, learning and growing through both the messes and the miracles.
Each reading left me feeling seen, understood, and encouraged to keep trusting God’s purpose for my life. It’s the kind of book you don’t just read once, you come back to it when you need hope, perspective, or simply a reminder of His mercy.
Renee Jackson, Amazon Review
This is such a great book! It was extremely well written and thought out. It would make the perfect gift with the workbook for someone of any age!
Dorothy Cunningham, Amazon Review
This devotional doesn’t tiptoe around real life, it meets you right in the chaos and still points you back to God’s peace. It’s raw, honest, and genuinely encouraging. I found myself laughing, tearing up, and reflecting all in one sitting.

How Hard Is It to Get a Traditional Publisher?
Traditional publishing can be a great fit for some authors – but it is highly competitive and not the right path for everyone. Here’s what most authors should realistically expect:
Extremely Low Acceptance
- An estimated 90–95% of manuscripts are rejected
- Literary agents typically accept 1–2% of queries
- Of those accepted by agents, only a small portion are sold to publishers
A Literary Agent Is Usually Required
- Most traditional publishers do not accept unsolicited manuscripts
- Authors must first secure a literary agent
- Querying agents can take months or years, often with no response
Platform Matters (Especially for Faith-Based Books)
Publishers often expect authors to already have:
- An established audience or email list
- Speaking engagements or ministry reach
- A strong social media or media presence
For faith-based nonfiction, platform is often as important as the manuscript itself.
Long Timelines
Even after acceptance:
- Agent querying: 6–18 months
- Submission to publishers: 6–12 months
- Production after contract: 12–24 months
In many cases, it can take 2–3 years before a book is published.
Limited Creative Control
With traditional publishing:
- Covers and titles are typically chosen by the publisher
- Timelines and release dates are not author-controlled
- Rights may be limited or tied up for years
- Marketing support for new authors is often modest
No Guarantees
Even with a traditional deal:
- Strong sales are not guaranteed
- Many authors still handle much of their own promotion
- Some books receive minimal marketing support
A Note for Authors
Traditional publishing is not “better” – it is simply more selective, slower, and more restrictive. Many authors choose alternative publishing paths that allow them to:
- Maintain full ownership and rights
- Publish on a clearer timeline
- Retain creative control
- Receive personalized, hands-on support
