Today’s Verse is about getting back up after disappointment — when life didn’t go the way you hoped, and you’re tempted to believe the setback is the end of the story.

Micah 7:8 (NIV)
“Do not gloat over me, my enemy! Though I have fallen, I will rise. Though I sit in darkness, the Lord will be my light.”
Falling is part of being human. Missing it. Messing up. Getting overwhelmed. Hitting moments you didn’t see coming.
This verse doesn’t pretend the fall didn’t happen. It names it — and then refuses to let it define the future.
Notice the confidence here isn’t in self-will or hustle. It’s in God’s light.
Darkness may surround you for a season — confusion, grief, disappointment, uncertainty — but darkness doesn’t get to decide how the story ends.
Falling isn’t failure if you rise. Darkness isn’t defeat when God is your light.
If today you feel:
• Discouraged by a setback
• Embarrassed by a stumble
• Unsure how to move forward
Let this verse reset your perspective.
You don’t need to explain the fall.
You don’t need to rush the recovery.
You just need to trust that this isn’t the end.
God specializes in lifting people who thought they were finished.
“A fall doesn’t cancel my future — God is still my light.”
Lord, thank You for being my light when I feel low. Help me rise again with confidence in You, even when the path forward feels uncertain. Amen.
