Today’s Verse is for the days when you feel worn by life — not dramatic, not falling apart — just quietly tired from carrying more than most people realize.

2 Corinthians 1:3–4 (NIV)
“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.”
There’s a kind of tired that doesn’t come from doing too much — it comes from feeling deeply, caring consistently, and holding space for others while managing your own weight.
This verse doesn’t minimize trouble.
It doesn’t rush comfort. It introduces God as the Father of compassion — meaning comfort isn’t something He occasionally offers… it’s who He is.
God doesn’t stand outside your trouble waiting for it to pass. He enters it with you.
And sometimes the comfort He gives you isn’t just for survival — it becomes something you carry forward.
Not as a lesson.
Not as a “silver lining.”
But as lived understanding.
The kind that lets you sit with someone else someday and say, “I don’t have all the answers — but I know what it feels like, and I know God meets us here.”
That kind of comfort is sacred.
If today you feel:
• emotionally tired
• tender in ways you can’t explain
• stretched by what you’re carrying
You don’t have to be strong right now.
You don’t have to make meaning out of the pain yet.
Let God comfort you first.
There will be time later for purpose, perspective, and passing it on. Right now, you’re allowed to simply receive.
“I am allowed to receive comfort before I offer it.”
God of compassion, You see the weight I’m carrying. Meet me here with Your comfort — not to rush me forward, but to sit with me in this place. Hold me gently today. Amen.
