Today’s Verse is a gentle reminder that this day — right here, right now — matters. Not because everything is perfect, but because God intentionally placed you in it.

Psalm 118:24 (NIV)
“This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.”
This verse used to sound simple to me. Almost too simple.
But the older I get, the more I realize how much wisdom is tucked inside it.
It doesn’t say this is the day you planned.
It doesn’t say this is the day you understand.
It doesn’t even say this is the day you feel ready for.
It says this is the day the Lord has made.
Which means today isn’t random. It isn’t an accident. And it isn’t something to rush through while waiting for a better one.
Rejoicing here isn’t loud happiness or forced positivity. Its presence.
It’s choosing not to miss the day God gave you because you’re worried about yesterday or anxious about tomorrow.
Some days rejoicing looks like gratitude.
Some days it looks like laughter.
And some days it simply looks like saying, “I’m still here — and that matters.”
Joy doesn’t require perfect circumstances. It just requires awareness.
Today, before the day gets away from you:
• Pause for a moment
• Take a deep breath
• Notice something good, even if it’s small
You don’t have to make today impressive. You don’t have to accomplish everything.
You’re allowed to experience the day God gave you.
“Today is not something to survive — it’s something I’m allowed to live.”
God, thank You for this day. Help me slow down enough to notice it, receive it, and be present in it. Teach me how to choose joy — not because everything is perfect, but because You are here with me today. Amen.
