Today’s Verse is for the in-between seasons — when you’re not where you were, but you’re not fully where you’re going either. When growth feels real but unfinished.

Philippians 1:6 (NIV)
“Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”
Paul writes these words from prison.
This matters.
He’s not speaking from comfort. He’s not watching everything unfold neatly. The church in Philippi is young. There are pressures. There are unknowns. There are risks.
And yet he says he is confident.
Not confident in circumstances.
Not confident in human effort.
Confident in God’s initiative.
“He who began…”
God started this.
The “good work” Paul refers to isn’t just personal self-improvement. It includes their faith, their partnership in the gospel, their transformation as a community shaped by Christ.
And Paul anchors their future in this truth: God does not abandon what He begins.
Completion doesn’t mean instant maturity. It means faithful continuation.
The idea behind “carry it on” carries the sense of bringing something to its intended goal. God is not casually shaping you. He is intentionally forming you.
So, when progress feels slow…
When growth feels uneven…
When you notice both strength and weakness in the same season…
That does not mean the work has stalled or stopped.
It means you are mid-process.
You’re not behind.
You’re becoming.
And the One who initiated your faith is still active in it.
If today you feel:
• aware of the gaps in your growth
• frustrated by how long transformation takes
• unsure how everything will come together
Pause and remember:
The beginning was God’s.
The continuation is God’s.
The completion will be God’s.
Your role is faithfulness.
His role is formation.
“I am in process — and God is actively completing what He began.”
God, thank You for being faithful to the work You started in me. When I grow impatient with my pace, remind me that You are intentionally shaping my life. Help me trust Your process and remain steady in it. Amen.
