Scripture:
“Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near.” — Philippians 4:5 (NIV)
Reflection:
Gentleness sounds soft… until you realize it takes serious strength.
It’s easy to clap back.
It’s easy to be sharp, sarcastic, or defensive (and honestly, sometimes justified).
But choosing gentleness when you could go feral? That’s discipline. That’s maturity. That’s Holy Spirit self-control.
Gentleness doesn’t mean being a doormat. It means responding with calm confidence instead of emotional whiplash.
And remember — the Lord is near.
So maybe we pause before we type, speak, or mentally rehearse that comeback.
Prayer:
Lord, help me choose gentleness today — especially when my patience is thin.
Guard my words, steady my reactions, and remind me that how I respond matters. Let Your presence shape my attitude before my emotions do. Amen.
