“Death and life are in the power of the tongue…”
Everyone reads this and thinks, “Yep, people need to watch what they say to ME.” Meanwhile, we’re out here talking to ourselves like we’re the villain in our own story.
We say stuff like:
- “I’m so tired.”
- “I can’t do this.”
- “Life is unfair.”
- “I’m done.”
Then we’re confused when our spirit feels like it got hit by a truck.
Let’s be honest: Half the battles we fight are because we keep speaking death over our own day before it even starts. Your words don’t just hit the air, they hit you. They shape your attitude, your hope, your confidence, and your peace.
So instead of dragging yourself with doom-and-gloom remarks, try talking to yourself like you’re someone God is actually working on (because… you are).
Say things like:
- “I’m getting stronger.”
- “This season is growing me, not breaking me.”
- “I can do this with God’s help.”
- “Better is coming, and I’m ready for it.”
A little sass, a little truth: Stop cursing your own life with casual negativity. Start blessing your own life with intentional words. Speak life – even if you have to whisper it at first. ![]()
